Parish Who Laid Down Their Lives In The Great (1914 - 1920)

Harry Bowers Harry was the son of John and Eliza Bowers of Horbury Bridge and husband of Mary Olive of Haggs Hill, Ossett. He served in the King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regt.,) as Pte., 242534. He dued on 31 October 1917 aged 30 and is remembered in New Irish Farm Cemetery
Horace Cawthorne Horace was the son of Frederick and Martha of Crossfield Terrace, Horbury. He served in the HLI as Pte., 242048. He died on 25 September 1917 aged 20 and he is remembered along with many others in Tyne Cot Cemetery.

John Heald John was the son of John William and Hannah Heald of Horbury Bridge. He served in the Cameronians as Pte., 40981. He died on 1 August 1918 aged 29 and is remembered in Nine Elms British Cemetery along with over 1600 other casualties of war

George Arthur Stanley George was the brother of Miss A Stanley of 48 Ship Stye Road, Horbury, Bristol. He served in the Yorkshire Regt., as Pte., 24297 and died on n2 April 1917. He is remembered in Henin Communal Cemetery Extension
