J Maitland Downie James Maitland Downie was the son of James Walker Downie MBCM and his wife Elsie Susannah Walker Downie of Woodside Crescent, Glasgow. James served as a Captain in the RAMC and died on 28 October 1918 aged 25. He rests in Basra War Cemetery

Neil Hughes  
William Limmond William McCullock Limond ( as he can be found on CWGC and some military records) was the son of John and Annie Limond of Brick house, Minishant. He enlisted in Glasgow, joining the A & SH as Pte 3807, later being transferred to the Cameron Highlanders as S/29439. Willliam died on 28 July 1917 aged 24 and he rests in Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria, Greece. He rests with over 1900 other identified casualties
Andrew Girvan Andrew was the son of Mr & Mrs Hugh Girvan of Letrualt Farm, Row, Helensburgh, being born in Kelton. He enlisted in Helensburgh and served in the RGA as Bombardier 174. Andrew was KIA on 31 July 1916 aged 28 and rests in Peronne Road Cemetery, Maricourt.
David Girvan David Gordon Girvan, was the son of Hugh Girvan and brother of Andrew (above). He also served in the RGA, after enlisting in Helensburgh, as Gunne4r 326254 and was KIA on 30 November 1917 aged 23 and is remembered on the Cambrai Memorial.

William G Nutt William was the son of James and Clara of Cumberland Terrace, Rhu, Helensburgh and husband of Mary who lived at Kirkpark Villa, Rhu, Helensburgh. William had served in the Southn African Campaign but during WWI he enlisted in Glasgow and became L.Cpl 9340 in the Black Watch. William died of wounds on 11 April 1915 aged 32 and rests in Bethune Town Cemetery.
John Shedden John McGill Sheddon was born in Leith and enlisted in Glasgow, joining the RASC as 5578. Her later transferred to the Yorkshire Regiment as Pte 34055. John was KIA on 23 November 1917 and he is remembered on the Cambrai Memorial, Louverval.
R W G Waugh Robert William Gladstone Waugh was born in Anderston, Lanark on 1 August 1881. He married Nellie of Glencairn Cottages, Garelochler. He served as Leading Seaman in the Royal Navy as 1 97535 on HM Drifter Clover Bank. Robert died as a result of the Clover Bank being mined off Zeebrugge on 24 April 1916 - he was never recovered. He is remembered along with many others on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial

Robert Nigel Kenneth Barge Robert was the son of Lt. Colonel Kenneth Barge and Debonaire Eva Ruth Barge of Rhu. He served as a Lieutenant in the RE's, service no. 69056. Robert died on 4 June 1940 aged 23 and rests in Dunkirk Town Cemetery
Archibald Edward MacLean McPhail  
Andrew McShee Andrew was the son of John and Helen McShee and husband of Winifred. he served as Driver T/76125 in the RASC. He died on 24 May 1941 aged 35 and is remembered on the Athens Memorial
Hew Morrison Hew was ther son of James Douglas Morrison and Jean Mackay Mackenzie Morrison of Helensburgh. He served as 127904 Flying Officer, Pilot in the RAFVR and died on 27 July 1944 aged 21 and rests in Fastlane Cemetery.
John Douglas Oatts John Douglas Oatts was the son of John Lumsden Oatts and his wife Ellen Margaret. He married Naomi Ann and the couple lived in Shandon. He served as Brevet Colonel in the Royal Scots Fusiliers. John died on 26 November 1941 and rests in Asmara War Cemetery, Eritrea along with 269 other identified casualties
