Various pictures of St Peter's church. The top right shows the twin towers, I believe this is the only church in Yorkshire to have such towers. Sadly the massive building is unused and its future is uncertain.

Fallen standing cross the memory of Butterfield family members.

The Smith family, members include :- Thomas 1853-1908 ; Helen, his wife ; and children James and Ethel.

Right :- IHS Alexander Smith † Oct 13 1874 aged 23

                                      

Joshua Stringer who died Jun 23 1866 aged 71. He honestly discharged the duties of corresponding secretary for the Wakefield District of the Independant Order or Oddfellows Manchester Unity during the period of 17 years. His los they lament and whose memory they revere. This stone was erected by members of the above district. Ann Stringer wife of the above died 16 Dec 1860 aged 49

LHS :- Ann Holmes of Stanley ‡ 31 Dec 1848 †15 Dec 1920.      RHS :- Thomas Hirst of Outwood House in Stanley cum Wrenthorpe, late of Heckmondwike in the Parish of Birstall who departed this live Oct 21 ad 1842 aged 45

Collection of headstones at the rear of the church. The headstone standing is to Mary wife of Samuel Theaker and the Elliot family including Sarah who died 1928 aged 86

LHS :- John Lake of Stanley † Jun 25 1879 aged 81 and Eliza his wife † Mar 15 1890 in the 80th year of her life.       RHS :- ILMO Emma Ann wife of Joshua Abson of Stanley Lane End who died Feb 10 1902 aged 52 years also Frederick Bl *** aged 53 son of the above who died Sept 16 1919 aged 53 also of Joseph Abson who died Apr 29 1924 also Charles E T Abson who died Aug 16 1947 aged 80 and also louisa his wife who died Jul 13 1945 aged 80.
