Broadrick, G F Lt. Col. Border Regt Aug 21 1915 George Fletcher Broadrick was the son of Lieut R F Broadbrick, R.N. and Frances Mary (nee Credson). George is remembered on the Helles Memorial. The memorial stands on the point of the Gallipoli Peninsula
Nevile, S G R Commdr R N Jan 15 1918 Sandford Grant Radcliffe Nevile was born c1876 in Skelbrooke, the son of Percy Sandford Nevile b 1840 in Switzerland and Etheline. The family lived at Skelbrooke Park. Sandford lies in the local churchyard and has the honour of a small window in the church being in his memory, also his 'death penny' is incorporated within the stonework.
Broadrick, F B D Major RFA Apr 19 1918 Frederick Benjamin Dumaresq Broadrick was the son of Col. Edward Broadrick and Elizabeth of 23 Talbot Road, Bayswater, London. Frederick was at the Base Depot in Le Havre, France when he was killed. He lies in Ste. Marie Cemetery, Le Havre along with nearly 2000 others who are all equal in death
Nevile, G L Capt 19th Yorks Rgt June 15 1915 Guy Lister Nevile, brother of Nevile, S G R and son of Percy and Etheline Sandford of Skelbrooke Park was born in 1888 in Portsmouth. In the census of 1901 he was at The Royal Naval School in Kent. Guy died aged 28 and is remembered on Le Touret Memorial near Bethune, France. Guy also has a window in the village church in his memory again with the 'death penny' embedded in the stonework.
Bentley, T 2nd Lieut KOYLI July 1918 Tom Bentley was born in Knottingley in 1888 the son of Thomas Henry Bentley and his wife Emily Jane. Thomas Henry was an auctioneer. Tom in the census of 1901 was one of three children to Thomas and Emily. Tom was killed on 31 July 1918 aged 30 and is buried at Croix-Rouge Military Cemetery, Quaedypre near Dunkerque
Cooke Yarborough, E S 3rd Dgs Nov 17 1914 Edmund Selwyn Cooke Yarborough was the son of G B Cooke Yarborough, JP., DL of Campsmouht, Doncaster and Mary of Zetland House, Marloes Rd, Kensington, London. Edmund served as 8171 and is remembered on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres.
Sendall, H RFA May 8 1918 Harry was the son of Harry and Marian (nee Johnson) and husband of Lily of Skelbrooke. Harry served as 110711 and died aged 26. He is remembered on Tyne Cot Memorial Memorial to the Missing. The Memorial bares the names of over 35,000 officers and men whose final resting place is known only to their God
Jackson, J RE April 9 1918 John was the son of Thomas and Emily who gave their address after the Great War as that of Sandy Field View, Carcroft. John served as 105341 and died aged 20. He is buried at le Grant Beaumart British Cemetery Steevwerck, nr Armentieres
Dimon, R P 2nd KOYLI Jan 26 1916 Reginald Price Dimon was the youngest son of Albert and Mary An of Sevenoaks, Kent. He served as 20415 and died aged 20. He lies in Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres.
Saville, G 2/5th KOYLI Nov 20 1917 Saville, G W served as Pte., 26288. He is buried in Hermies Hill British Cemetery, nr Cambrai.
Hall, C B 8th KOYLI June 7 1917 Charles Bisby Hall was the son of Richard and Jane Ann of Skelbrooke and husband of Edith Mary of Adwick-le-Street. Charles served as Pte., 39684 and is remembered on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres
Atkinson, W RASC Oct 17 1918 William was the son of John and Mary and served as Farrier Cpl TS/9645 in the Horse Transport div. He is buried at Montecchio Precalcino Communal Cemetery Extension nr Vicenza, Italy. William lies with over 400 other casualties of war
